Boys’ Rites of Passage

As a Licensed Psychologist I have heard nothing but positive responses from the young men whom I have referred to the Mountain Wisdom, Boy’s Rite of Passage Camp that Jay and Terry offer each Summer.  The boys’ parents report numberous benefits gleaned from their sons participation.  They are more reflective and considerate of others, willing to help around the house, and have a greater sense of direction in life.  The research into nature-based therapy is substantial and uniformly positive, and  MWI’s program is inexpensive, time-limited, well-organized, and has an excellent, well-trained, staff.  You will not find a better, more professional and caring camp, with so many benefits offered than MWI’s Boys Rite of Passage Camp.

Rites of Passage Experience, Girls to Women

Very few of the young ladies I serve in my private psychology practice see themselves as strong independent young women.  Most still fall for the cultural notion that they must base their self-worth on their degree of popularity and their ability to attract boys.  MWI’s Summer Rite of Passage Camp, get a maturational jump start, realizing that their own individual life has an important purpose and meaning all its own.  They come away from the experience with a leap in self-confidence and connectedness with others beyond physical appearances and popularity.  They are more centered and calm from having found themselves, as evolving young women, walking in grace and awareness.  MWI’s carefully selected staff is well-trained, caring, and professional.

Fundraising Campaign

This is truly a remarkable camp for teens. Hope you will consider sending your child this summer or donating to the campaign to help send someone to camp! http://igg.me/p/92534?a=540148

Rites of Passage Camps are designed with the purpose of helping young men and women begin the process of moving from one stage of life to another. This goal is accomplished through fun-filled, transformational experiences in the outdoors.  Teens (age 12-17) learn survival skills such as building a fire, shelter building and purifying water as well as theatre, crafts, team building games and environmental awareness.  To enroll your child in camp or to find out how you can get involved as a volunteer, visit www.mountainwisdominc.org or contact 706-276-2595 or camp@mountainwisdominc.org.  Mountain Wisdom, Inc., the non-profit, which founded the Rites of Passage Camps, also accepts tax-deductible donations to help young men and women attend camp.
